Professional Hair Colour Design and Colouring Services by Japanese-Inspired Stylists
Beautiful hair colour results depend on both the use of high-quality products and the stylist’s expertise in assessing hair condition, choosing formulas that help protect the hair, and selecting the most suitable shades and colour combinations. Hair colouring also enhances your overall look, adds expression, and reflects your individuality. For this reason, choosing the right salon for hair colour design deserves careful consideration. At MOGA Hair Salon, we approach every step with care — from consultation and personalised colour design tailored to each client and lifestyle, to aftercare advice that helps keep the hair healthy and beautiful for longer.
Hair Colour Services and Types of Hair Dye
Hair dyes can be divided into 3 main types, each giving different results, longevity, and effects on the hair. Choosing the one that suits your needs is therefore an important starting point before deciding to color.
Permanent Hair Colour
Ideal for those who want to change their hair color and expect a result that is clearly different from before, such as wanting to go lighter than their natural color or to cover gray hair seamlessly, because Permanent color can remove a large amount of the hair’s original pigment, allowing the hair to become as light as desired. The color molecules penetrate and work completely in the hair’s Cortex layer, giving color that lasts for many months.
MOGA’s recommendation: Permanent color affects the strength of the hair the most among all 3 color types, so it is essential to choose effective products and to use the service of a stylist who thoroughly understands the steps of analyzing and assessing the hair structure.
Demi-Permanent Hair Colour
Ideal for anyone who wants to make their color tone deeper or change the tone without making the hair lighter than before, or who wants to cover gray hair in a way that is gentler on the hair than permanent color, because Demi-Permanent color can remove only part of the hair’s original pigment. The color molecules penetrate only as far as the outer area of the Cortex layer, making it gentler on the hair than permanent color, and it lasts longer than Semi-Permanent color, lasting approximately 6-8 weeks.
MOGA’s recommendation: You should alternate demi-permanent color with permanent color when covering gray hair, to help preserve hair quality in the long term.
Semi-Permanent Hair Colour
Ideal for anyone who wants to try changing their color tone temporarily, or who wants to add dimension to the hair from time to time without affecting the hair structure at all, because Semi-Permanent color has no oxidation reaction with the hair, so it does not remove the original pigment and does not make the hair lighter. The pigment coats only the Cuticle layer, or the hair scale, and contains no ammonia, making it the gentlest hair dye on the hair among all 3 color types. It is ideal for people who want to try new colors before deciding to do permanent color.
MOGA’s recommendation: The color will begin to fade after about 4-5 washes, or last only 2-3 weeks.

As hair colour pricing depends on each client’s hair condition and colouring history, we recommend coming in for a complimentary consultation. We also advise a patch test on the inner arm or behind the ear before the actual service to check for any allergic reaction and ensure the treatment is suitable before proceeding.
In addition, if you are looking for a specific hair colour brand, please contact the branch in advance before your appointment, as the brands used may vary by location.
Notes:
Please note that hair colour results may change after the service depending on how the hair is cared for at home. As this varies from person to person, the salon is unable to take responsibility for changes caused after the service.
If you have any concerns about your hair colour result, you may return for an initial consultation with your stylist within 3 days of your appointment. If colour correction is required, an appointment must be made within 7 days from the original service date. Any correction must be carried out by the same stylist who performed the original service; changing stylists is not possible.*
*The original stylist is the person who assessed your hair condition before colouring and prepared the colour formula used. They therefore understand your hair colour details and hair condition best, and are the most suitable person to carry out any necessary colour correction.
What to Know Before Your Hair Colour Appointment
How to Prepare Before Hair Colouring
- Before every colour service, please inform your stylist of your hair colour and chemical service history, such as perms or straightening, as these can affect both the colour plan and the final result.
- For your safety, please clearly inform your stylist of any concerns in advance, such as cuts or irritation on the scalp, itching, or any history of allergy to P-Phenylenediamine (PPD) or P-Toluenediamine (PTD).
- Hair colouring takes time, and if you would like a much lighter shade or a colour very different from your current hair colour, bleaching and multiple colouring steps may be required.
- Please keep your hair clean before your appointment and avoid using styling products. If you will be having colour with root bleaching, shampooing immediately beforehand is not necessary.
- Coloured hair requires ongoing care and regular touch-up appointments to help maintain even colour, especially in cases involving bleaching.
Does Hair Colour Change Hair Permanently, and What Can Make Colour Fade Faster?
Hair colour does not remain exactly the same permanently, as all colour fades naturally over time. However, colouring can permanently alter the hair’s pigment depending on the type of dye used, as follows:
- Permanent hair colour permanently changes the pigment inside the hair. As the colour fades, the hair does not return to its original natural shade. Much of the colour change over time happens when the colour pigment oxidises through contact with copper and other elements in water.
- Demi-Permanent and Semi-Permanent colour gradually fade over time, although Demi-Permanent colour may not wash out completely.
Understanding Hair Structure Before Colouring
Hair is made up of three main parts:
- The cuticle is the outer layer of the hair. It plays an important role in retaining moisture and protecting the hair from external factors. If the cuticle is damaged, colour may not adhere well and can fade more quickly.
- The cortex is the main body of the hair, made up of densely packed keratin cells and the hair’s natural pigment. When these keratin cells are damaged, the hair loses strength and elasticity. Most colouring reactions take place in the cortex rather than on the cuticle, which is why the condition of this layer greatly affects bleaching and colour results. If the cortex is weak, the hair may break more easily or fail to hold colour properly.
- The medulla is the innermost and thinnest part of the hair. It has a hollow structure and helps support the overall form of the hair.
Aftercare Advice Following Hair Colour
To help your hair colour last longer and maintain its shine, it is important to avoid factors that may cause the colour to fade more quickly, including:
- Hair condition: If the hair is weak or damaged, colour will fade more quickly. Regular treatments or hair masks are recommended to help maintain hair health.
- Heat: Washing with very warm water, as well as frequent blow-drying, straightening, or curling with heat, can cause colour to fade faster. Cool air or lower heat settings are recommended instead.
- Chlorine: Water containing chlorine, whether from tap water or swimming pools, can cause hair colour to fade more easily. If exposure is unavoidable, wearing a swim cap and treating the hair immediately afterwards is recommended.
- Daily care: Use shampoo and conditioner designed for colour-treated hair, avoid washing too frequently, and apply products that help protect the hair from sunlight or UV exposure when outdoors.
Treatments to care for hair after chemical services, for beautiful, flowing color and hair
After using the hair color design and coloring service, it is normal for the hair to lose moisture. MOGA recommends coming in for a treatment service at the same time, to restore the hair structure, as well as to help rebalance and deeply remove chemical residue after coloring.
1. Program for damaged hair (3,100 – 4,300 Baht)
Repairs and restores strength to hair damaged by chemicals, helping reduce breakage and split ends.
2. Program for severely damaged hair (4,800 – 5,000 Baht)
deal for hair that has undergone repeated chemical services continuously (bleaching, perming, straightening) until deeply damaged into the hair fiber, stretching easily, breaking easily, and becoming mushy when wet. Repairs the internal structure together with a protective coating, restoring moisture and strength to the scalp and hair.
If you plan to bleach and retouch the roots, it is best to do so before the regrowth exceeds 2 inches. Longer root regrowth is more complex to bleach, may result in uneven colour, and can also affect pricing and final results.
Notes: In general, hair colour begins to fade or root regrowth becomes visible within 4–6 weeks. To keep your colour looking fresh and beautiful, we recommend booking your next maintenance or colour appointment in around 1–1.5 months.
Frequently asked questions about hair color design and coloring services at MOGA (FAQs)
Q: I'm interested in balayage or highlights, how should I prepare and how long does it take?
A: Balayage or highlights are techniques that require high precision for beautiful hair dimension. It usually takes about 3-5 hours. Our expert stylists will assess your hair condition and recommend the most appropriate steps, to achieve a look with beautiful, healthy hair that is not dry or damaged.
Q: Can men receive the hair color design service at MOGA?
A: If you are looking for a men’s hair coloring salon, MOGA is ready to serve you, designing hair color from natural tones to full bleaching. It differs from women’s in that short hair reveals the roots and scalp clearly, requiring precise color application from the hairline, and new roots appear faster, so the frequency of re-coloring must be planned to suit your lifestyle. The stylist provides a consultation before every service.
Q: What are the restrictions before coloring, how should I prepare, and should I wash my hair beforehand?
A: It is not necessary to wash your hair before coloring, especially when bleaching, because the natural oils on the scalp help protect against stinging and irritation from the chemicals. Avoid using styling products, as they will make the color not last, and finally avoid scratching the scalp hard, because if there is a sore, itching, or abrasion, the stylist will consider not coloring the hair, to prevent any side effects.
Q: My hair is dry and damaged after coloring, how do I restore it, and what kind of treatment should I do?
A: Initially, you should adjust your home hair-care routine together with treatments, such as choosing a shampoo specifically for color-treated hair, avoiding washing with very hot water, and refraining from using high heat to prevent further dryness and damage. But if you want to urgently restore the internal structure to address mushy or accumulated damage, a specialized in-salon treatment will help replenish moisture and repair the hair fibers most deeply and precisely. At MOGA, we are ready to assess your hair condition and recommend a treatment program suited specifically to you.
Q: If I have concerns about chemical allergies, which products should I choose and what are the care steps?
A: We have Wella ME+ products that help reduce the risk of PPD/PTD allergy to a certain degree. Before starting the service, the stylist always performs a Patch Test allergy test for every client, to help assess the risk before deciding to color.
Q: Why, after coloring, does the stylist recommend doing a nourishing treatment together with it?
A: Doing a treatment together helps rebalance and immediately add nutrients into the hair fiber (Cortex), and importantly it helps seal the cuticle (Cuticles) smooth, which locks the pigment into the hair, making the color last longer. MOGA’s deep nourishment with specialized tools and techniques therefore not only helps quickly restore the hair structure to strength, but also delivers beautiful, radiant, shiny color that holds its style longer.
